Today was a big day. I walked to the post office to send off all the paperwork for my teaching credential. I finished the CPR class yesterday and took the US Constitution test on Tuesday, which were my final two requirements. The CPR class I understand--I may need to help a choking child or perform CPR on a child. But the US Constitution class? Really? What representative decided that teachers in this state need to know who can confirm an ambassador? Like so many other parts of this process, knowing what the Constitution says and how it was formed reflects NOTHING on how well I could actually teach or apply the Constitution to the classroom.
But none the less, I jumped through the hoop and now I can become a teacher. A real live certified teacher.
